Permission to use material from A Girl with Tangled Hair for non-commercial academic study
Permission has been received from the literary estate of Jane Reichhold to use the poems from A Girl with Tangled Hair by Akiko Yosano, translated by Jane Reichhold and Machiko Kobayashi, for non-commercial purposes in the development of this translation program.
Midaregami — Tangled Hair contains 399 poems. In this website we have taken a selection of these poems to inform our understanding of the poem's form and how it was constructed. Analysis has been carried out using Cursor AI for the most part.
Thanks to Ms Reichhold's work of a direct translation in the original order, we hope to deepen our understanding of how Akiko Yosano compiled her work.
